Indians Among 292 Rising Leaders for Professional Fellows Congress in U.S.

New Delhi, Nov 23, 2019:

Total 292 emerging leaders from 63 countries, including India have arrived in Washington, DC, this week, as the fall 2019 Professional Fellows conclude intensive fellowships with U.S. businesses, government offices, and non-profit organizations.

Convened by the U.S. Department of State, during the Professional Fellows Congress, Fellows will expand their networks, advance their leadership skills, and translate their experiences in the United States into actionable projects to implement in their home communities.

Over the past five to six weeks, the Professional Fellows worked with U.S. leaders in the fields of economic empowerment, civic engagement, environmental sustainability, and good governance. 

The Fellowship hosts were located in Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands, and 29 states, including: Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.

Every year, approximately 600 foreign and American participants take part in the Professional Fellows Program. 

This year,  emerging leaders from Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Brunei, Cambodia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Kiribati, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Samoa, Singapore, Solomon Islands, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Vanuatu, Vietnam, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Moldova, North Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, Ukraine, Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, India, Kazakhstan, Nepal, Pakistan, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Peru are participating in the Professional Fellows Congress 2019 , according to a State Department official.
